A self-taught artist, John Magne Lisondra speaks with a soft voice and uses a gentle hand while teaching. He lives in the Philippines where he never had access to the brushes, paints, and supplies easily found in many other places, yet he manages to master so many of the subtleties of the art discipline. Learning from him is a pleasure. When I saw his misty tropical rain forest I knew I had to paint it. The treefall reminds me of those “off-the-beaten-path” places in Florida that you might run across while visiting the gorgeous hidden springs. In the cool of the shade, you will find tree flowers, orchids, bromeliads, and ferns. Nature’s Bridge symbolizes the interconnectedness and interdependency of all earthly life. Decay encourages new growth.
