Poppy Field Lady

(Original SOLD) (210) (52.50) 9X12 Acrylics on standard canvas. This small treasure is “Inspired Art”. It was inspired by Angela Anderson. This was the first human form that I painted. Angela’s teachings make the difficult seem easy. Prints are not available.

I chose to paint this Angel Anderson-inspired piece as a tribute to the women waiting for war veterans. People associate the poppy with veterans in many countries. We often forget that the loved ones are veterans also. I imagined this woman longing to see someone who was miles away from home. She’s wondering if she will ever see them again.  As a young woman, I faced that wait and it wasn’t easy. Angela Anderson made painting my first human form a joy. Her attention to every fold of the fabric resulted in a delicate frill to the subject’s dress. This was my most cherished painting for a very long time.
